Silverstone next for Jordan and Pirtek Racing

Andrew Jordan and Pirtek Racing will switch their focus to Silverstone for rounds 25, 26 and 27 of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship this weekend (26/27 September).

The 2015 campaign has been a real challenge for Andrew in the MG6 GT run by Triple Eight Racing and an overall lack of speed has left him frustrated as he tries to keep pace with the BMWs, Hondas and VWs.

However, he has managed to score points consistently and has added to his tally in 22 of the 24 races to date. That has kept Andrew in the top group of drivers in the championship and he heads into the penultimate race weekend of the season lying fifth in the overall standings. Realistically, the title is now a straight fight between Gordon Shedden (286 points) and Jason Plato (280), but Andrew (240) has a chance of battling with Matt Neal (259) and Colin Turkington (253) for third in the final positions.

The National circuit configuration at the home of the British Grand Prix is a track that rewards power and straight line speed as the lap only contains three proper corners. It remains to be seen how the MG will perform.

“Two years ago we had a great result at Silverstone after the battle with Jason Plato, but I think qualifying will be very tough this year because there are so many people who will get up there,” says Andrew. “It will be very tough just to get in the top 10. But I can’t wait for the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit because I love the place,” he said, looking ahead to the final race weekend of the season over the weekend of 10/11 October.

Pirtek is Europe’s number one provider of hydraulic solutions and mobile hose replacement, with over 170 centres supported by over 700 mobile service workshops throughout Europe. Offering solutions to a number of business sectors, including the automotive industry.

After qualifying on Saturday 26 September at 15.45, the first of three BTCC races will be at 11.55 on Sunday, with race two at 14.30 and race three at 17.15. All three races will be broadcast on ITV4. Qualifying will be broadcast live at www.itv.com and live results from the weekend will be available at www.tsl-timing.com
