Andrew Jordan and the Pirtek Racing Ford Focus will be among the stars at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed (23-26 June).

Andrew was elated to be invited by Lord March to drive the Pirtek Racing BTCC car at the world’s largest motor sport and motoring heritage event, which is held in the stunning grounds of Goodwood House in West Sussex.

There is no other event like the Festival of Speed, which attracted more than 200,000 visitors in 2015. A total of 650 media representatives from all over the world will be on hand this year to see 600 race cars, motorbikes, rally cars and supercars in action. Seven Formula 1 teams are expected to run current Grand Prix cars up the hill in front of Goodwood House.

“It is a huge honour to be asked to take part in this event,” said Andrew, who is already a race winner and crowd favourite at the nearby Goodwood race track. “I don’t think the pace of the Focus up the hill will trouble the times of the Formula 1 cars, but it is a fantastic opportunity for me and my sponsors.”

This year’s Festival theme is ‘Full Throttle – The Endless Pursuit of Power’, which celebrates some of the most powerful machines in the history of the sport. The paddocks will be full of Grand Prix cars from the spectacular turbo era of the late 1980s, Land Speed Record cars, high-powered sports and GT cars and American drag racing cars.
