Jordan and Pirtek Racing ready for Rockingham

Andrew Jordan and Pirtek Racing will continue their challenge for the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship in rounds 22, 23 and 24 of the season at Rockingham next weekend (5/6 September).

The 2015 campaign has been pretty mixed for Andrew in the MG6 GT run by Triple Eight Racing. However, against his own expectations, he remains an outside contender for the title with three race weekends and nine races still to run over the next six weeks. As he prepares for the Rockingham weekend, Andrew lies fifth in the overall drivers’ points with a 30-point deficit to championship leader Jason Plato, while Matt Neal and Colin Turkington are just eight and two points ahead of Andrew. Each of the top five drivers has already been a BTCC champion, so the level of competition is very high.

Although repeating his 2013 overall BTCC title remains a long shot, Andrew is hopeful that Rockingham will be a good track for the Pirtek Racing MG and he wants to chase race wins and then see how the points’ situation develops.

“Rockingham should be better for us than Knockhill and we should definitely be more competitive there,” said Andrew as he looked ahead to the race weekend at the Rockingham Motor Speedway near Corby in Northamptonshire. “We’ll go into the weekend with 39kg of success ballast and a top four qualifying position will be my target.

“I’ve always gone well at Rockingham and I’ll drive it as quick as I can and see where we get in the races. It’s a track that is very aggressive on tyres and we have to be aware of that,” he added.

Pirtek is Europe’s number one provider of hydraulic solutions and mobile hose replacement, with over 170 centres supported by over 700 mobile service workshops throughout Europe. Offering solutions to a number of business sectors, including the automotive industry.

After qualifying on Saturday 5 September at 15.40, the first of three BTCC races will be at 11.35 on Sunday, with race two at 13.50 and race three at 16.40. All three races will be broadcast on ITV4. Qualifying will be broadcast live at www.itv.com and live results from the weekend will be available at www.tsl-timing.com
