Jordan and Pirtek Racing ready for Snetterton

Pirtek Racing’s Andrew Jordan is raring to get back into action in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship as rounds 16, 17 and 18 at the Snetterton circuit in Norfolk (8/9 August) mark the start of the second half of the season.

After the traditional mid-season break, the BTCC season resumes in East Anglia and Andrew is optimistic that his MG6 GT run by Triple Eight Racing will be a competitive package after a difficult weekend last time out at Croft at the end of June.

Many of the BTCC drivers took part in a test session at Snetterton recently and Andrew is pleased with how the test went. “We had a good test. It was very productive and I did 120 laps,” he said. “We worked on qualifying and race set-up and I think we should be pretty strong. It’s probably the only track where we’ve had some worthwhile testing and so we should hit the ground running for free practice on Saturday morning. We’ve got 33kg of success ballast on and I think we can qualify at the front of the grid. I think that’s realistic.”

Heading to Snetterton Andrew lies sixth in the overall points and is now 39 points down on championship leader Gordon Shedden. He says that the championship position has allowed him to re-think his approach to the race weekend.

“The championship is a really long shot now and I don’t need to think about points as much as I have been. I just want to win some races and get some podiums now. It will be good to get back racing after the summer break.”

Pirtek is Europe’s number one provider of hydraulic solutions and mobile hose replacement, with over 170 centres supported by over 700 mobile service workshops throughout Europe; offering solutions to a number of business sectors, including the automotive industry.

After qualifying on Saturday 8 August at 15.45, the first of three BTCC races will be at 12.00 on Sunday, with race two at 14.35 and race three at 16.55. All three races will be broadcast on ITV4. Qualifying will be broadcast live at www.itv.com and live results from the weekend will be available at www.tsl-timing.com
