What we look for

Pirtek is a business format franchise where all franchisees manage a Centre that is open to the public and a team of mobile hydraulics engineers providing where necessary an emergency 24/7 service 365 days per year. For the larger areas significant capital investment is required and for smaller areas a higher level of technical expertise would be required due to the smaller support team. In all cases we are looking for franchisees that can dedicate 100% of their working time to Pirtek.

Technical expertise is not pre-requisite for becoming a franchisee. Many of our franchisees have come through the ranks and their own knowledge is second to none. However, managing and motivating teams, financial acumen and exploiting the myriad of commercial opportunities are the keys to making the Pirtek business a success.

Anyone who makes a successful application will be asked to go through a thorough assessment process. This ensures that both Pirtek and the candidate are realistic about the chances of success in our business. The assessment process is managed by an independent company, who are experts in this field.

Support when it matters, advice when it counts, and support from Pirtek comes in a variety of ways:

  1. Peer support - don’t know who to deal with a problem? Well, with over 1000 years of hydraulic hose knowledge in the business somebody will know the answer to your problem.
  2. Training & Recruitment support - we can help you in finding the key people for your business- Centre Managers, Mobile Sales and Service Technicians (MSSTs), Administrators- through sitting in on interviews and placing recruitment adverts. Pirtek also has a dedicated training facility in Birmingham. Training delivered includes: technical, administrative, sales, management and personal skills. All courses are delivered by experts in their field. 
  3. Business Development support - Pirtek has a number of dedicated sales professionals whose role is to support you practically in generating new sales and maximising existing accounts. Marketing material and advice is available too- newsletters, PR, leaflets, promotional items etc.
  4. Administrative support - if you need systems help. Pirtek is by your side. It is everyone’s benefit that all parties know in detail how systems works.
  5. Technical and sourcing support - our Network Support team is on hand Monday through to Saturday to help you with any ordering issues that franchisees have. Technical support is there too for when franchisees have customer enquires an in depth knowledge of hydraulic systems.
