The Pirtek operation began in Sydney, Australia in 1980 and is now Australia's leading provider of on-site hose replacement. The total network, of 80 Hose Centres and over 240 vehicles has sales in excess of 100 million AUS dollars per annum.

Pirtek started operations in the UK in January 1988 and now dominates the UK Market with over 90 Centres around the country. This year's net sales will exceed £65 million in 2008, making Pirtek by far the largest operator in this market.

The entire hose market is estimated to be worth £600 million and there is ample opportunity for growth in the next decade and beyond. Pirtek operates as a franchise system where the franchisee acquires the rights to establish, own and operate a Pirtek business in their region. They are then provided with the support in the form of sales, marketing, IT, training, technical and financial back-up. This ensures that the business continues to develop this proven system.

Pirtek is a distributor of a wide range of hoses, fittings and associated products from a number of leading world manufacturers. The local Pirtek Centre is a regional distributor in his own right.

Pirtek's product selection criteria is extremely high. Each manufacturer must meet international standards for quality, reliability, performance, technological innovation and product support which includes research and development, training and technical literature.

The Pirtek Distribution Centre stocks more than 2,500 product lines to cater for the needs of the Pirtek network throughout the country. In addition a further 25,000 products are available from approved suppliers.
