Jordan Races into SED 2009

The fastest-rising young star of the British Touring Car Championship will be making a guest appearance on the Pirtek stand on Wednesday 13 May.

Press release date: 8 May 2009

Visitors to the SED exhibition at the Rockingham Motor Speedway from 12 to 14 May 2009 can take a break from the relatively slow-moving equipment on display to see one of the cars that is taking the 2009 British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season by storm.

The car, one of a three-car, Pirtek-backed VXRacing team, is usually driven by Andrew Jordan, the fastest-rising young star in the BTCC, who will also be making a guest appearance on Wednesday 13 May. Fresh from a podium finish at the latest BTCC round at Thruxton last weekend, Andrew will be on the stand during the day, answering questions and giving autographs to BTCC and motor racing fans.

Visitors to the Pirtek stand (Stand 198, Avenue C) will also be eligible to enter a competition to win a pair of VIP tickets to see Jordan and his VXRacing team mates compete in the Silverstone round of the BTCC championships. To enter, visitors will simply need to collect a copy of the latest Pirtek “In the Pipeline” magazine and answer one simple question. Alternatively, visitors can enter a prize draw to win a pair of tickets to the Rockingham Motor Speedway round of the British Touring Car Championships.

Fluid Transfer Solutions

There is also plenty to see for non-motor racing fans. On a stand that emphasises Pirtek’s commitment to and investment in health and safety procedures and practices, visitors can also ensure that they receive a FREE copy of the company’s new Fluid Transfer Solutions catalogue, a publication that has become the Bible of the hydraulics and pneumatics sector.

Now in its third edition, the new catalogue is over 800 pages in length and contains more than 18,000 line items, only a fraction of which are hoses. “Obviously, Pirtek is known first and foremost as a provider of emergency on-site hose replacements and that is still the mainstay of the company,” says business development director Alistair Wiggins. “However, our 90+ Centres across the UK and Ireland are also able to supply a comprehensive range of ancillary and complementary products and services including hydraulic pumps and motors, oil filtration and spill control products, industrial equipment and tooling, all of which are contained within the new Fluid Transfer Solutions catalogue.” Visitors wishing to claim a FREE Pirtek Fluid Transfer Solutions catalogue should collect voucher or a copy of In the Pipeline and take it to their local Pirtek Hose Centre (they can visit www.pirtek.co.uk or www.pirtek.ie and use the online Service Centre Locator to find their nearest Centre).
