The Rise and Rise of Pirtek Limerick

Michael Fogarty, licensee of Pirtek Limerick, has gone from newcomer to award-winner in just a few short months.

With more than 40 of its mobile workshops patrolling Ireland and a further 360+ in the UK, the blue Pirtek vans are a familiar sight on construction, demolition, recycling and quarry sites. Following the opening of a new Centre at the end of Dock Road at the beginning of the year, those vans have become even more common on the roads in and around Limerick.

The new Centre was opened in February 2008 by local man Michael Fogarty who, together with his four strong team of Mobile Service Technicians (MSSTs) and administrative staff is bringing Pirtek’s “Anytime, Anywhere, ETA One Hour” service to customers in his locality.
Fogarty brings with him more than eight years experience in this business which, together with Pirtek’s familiar levels of service, stocking and 24/7 emergency service, has clearly found favour with local customers. In just a few short months, Fogarty has gained customers including Skylift Ireland Ltd, Galway Plant & Tool Hire Ltd, and McHale Plant Sales Ltd, carrying out on-site work for each of them. As a result, Fogarty has invested in additional mobile workshop vans, swelling his fleet from an initial one to a current three to help maintain the responsive service for which Pirtek is renowned.

Fogarty and his team have also seen an excellent response to the service offered by Pirtek Limerick’s trade counter. Open weekdays and Saturday mornings, the trade counter is a one-stop-shop for high quality Pirtek replacement hoses and fittings and other allied consumables such as oil spill kits.
“Being in the hydraulics business means that we have to be responsive across a whole range of industry and market sectors from pharmaceuticals and injection moulding through to construction, demolition and quarrying,” Fogarty says. “Our aim is to provide our customers with a high quality, efficient and cost-effective service both on-site and at our trade counter.”

Fogarty’s determination and enthusiasm, together with the tireless support of the Pirtek Limerick team, has proved to be a winning combination. In addition to achieving consistent month-on-month growth since his Centre opening and securing some notable, large local customers, Michael Fogarty has also become a Pirtek award winner. “Pirtek UK recently hosted a conference for all its licensees and during the awards ceremony, I was named as New Licensee of the Year,” Fogarty concludes. “I was absolutely delighted, particularly as we had only been in operation for around four months at that point. It is a fantastic recognition for the team here at Limerick who worked so hard before, during and since our official opening.”
