PIRTEK RACING DEBUTS LIVERY AT AUTOSPORT INTERNATIONAL

14 January 2010 – Newcomer to the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, Pirtek Racing debuts its livery today at the NEC in Birmingham as part of the Autosport International show. The team, which will be spearheaded by former BTCC racer and British GT Champion Mike Jordan and will see son Andrew Jordan as driver, unveiled their eye-catching Vauxhall Vectra racer at the show ahead of their single car assault on the BTCC in 2010.

PIRTEK RACING READY TO LINE UP ON THE 2010 BTCC GRID

The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship will see a new addition to the grid for the 2010 season as Pirtek Racing launches its campaign on Britain’s premier motor racing series. Sponsored by fluid transfer solutions provider Pirtek, the team will be run by former BTCC race winner Mike Jordan and will see Mike’s 20-year old son Andrew – the fastest-rising star in the BTCC - taking on driving duties.

PIRTEK BACKED VXRACING TAKES 2009 MANUFACTURERS’ AND TEAMS’ TITLES

Pirtek backed VXRacing celebrated taking the Manufacturers’/Constructors’ title and the Teams’ title in the 2009 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship. In the final outing for the manufacturer-backed BTCC team, VXRacing fought to the wire at Brands Hatch circuit in Kent, with Fabrizio Giovanardi, Matt Neal and Andrew Jordan pushing to the limits in each race. Giovanardi took two podiums and a fourth place to secure third in the BTCC Drivers’ Championship. Neal finished with two fifths and an eighth place, taking fourth place in the Drivers’ Championship, while Jordan was fourth in the first race, 16th in the second and retired with accident damage in the third race, finishing ninth in the Drivers’ Championship.

PIRTEK BACKED VX RACING CELEBRATES DOUBLE VICTORY AT SNETTERTON

Pirtek backed VX Racing celebrated two race wins at Snetterton race circuit in Norfolk on Sunday, the first double victory of the season so far for the team. The sixth round of the ten event 2009 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship produced three excellent races, with reigning champion, Fabrizio Giovanardi taking top honours in the first two races and a second place podium in the final race of the day. Matt Neal endured a tough weekend, with a best finish of third position, as well as a ninth and fourteenth place. Andrew Jordan was unable to capitalise on a strong qualifying session, with a fourth and two 12th places.

Pirtek backed VXRacing rides the storm for victory

Pirtek backed VX Racing took victory in the final race of Sunday’s HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship round at Croft Circuit, with Fabrizio Giovanardi taking his second win of the season. The British weather played a major part in the fortunes of the VX Racing team, with dry and hot conditions for the first two races not favouring the Vauxhalls, but late afternoon rain giving the drivers the grip levels they needed to run up front. Reigning champion, Giovanardi finished fifth in both of the earlier races, while Matt Neal had two sixth places and an eighth, and 20-year-old driver, Andrew Jordan finished with three points-scoring results - fourth, seventh and eighth places.

OULTON PARK PROVES BIGGEST CHALLENGE THIS SEASON FOR PIRTEK BACKED VX RACING

Oulton Park proved to be one of the biggest challenges of the season so far for Pirtek backed VX Racing. The fourth round of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship at the popular track brought each of the drivers a podium finish . However all three had to fight hard every lap of every race to produce these strong results. Fabrizio Giovanardi notched up his 100th BTCC race at the Cheshire circuit, competing in his fourth season of the championship. Andrew Jordan was delighted to take his third podium finish of the season so far. Matt Neal, with a third, a fourth and a seventh place retains his Drivers’ Championship lead, but only by two points. Pirtek backed VX Racing claimed a podium sweep in the first race of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship event at Thruxton circuit. Fabrizio Giovanardi led his team mates home with Matt Neal in second place and Andrew Jordan in third position.
For the opening race Giovanardi started from pole with Neal beside him on the front row. Despite carrying the maximum success ballast of 45 kgs, Neal stayed ahead of third placed driver Jason Plato off the line. Andrew Jordan started fourth, but snatched third within the first few corners. Determined not to relinquish the all-VX Racing podium Jordan defended hard, fending off Plato in the opening laps and pulling away from his rivals.
